There she is in all her glory. Creamy shrimp, crab, and scallop dip served with toasty bread. Easily the highlight of the entire meal. The dip was rich without being too greasy, and it’s hard to complain about anything when you’re scooping stringy cheese into your mouth with carbs.
For an entree, I stuck with a pretty tame choice, the smoked and fried shrimp po’boy with fries. You can really taste the smokiness is the shrimp, so if that’s your thing, you’ll love it. There was bit too much bread for my taste (words I never thought I’d say) but overall it was tasty! The fries were seasoned nicely and crispy. When I go back, I’ll definitely check out the Creole loaded fries, which is these bad boys loaded with all sorts of toppings.
We also tried the “dirty mac,” which is mac and cheese with peppers and Andouille sausage.
Jax is a great stop in the metro if you’ve got a craving for Cajun food. They also have a decent beer and wine menu, so I’d definitely come back for appetizers and drinks since those were my favorite part of the meal. You can check out Jax on Campus Corner in Norman.
